Alison C. (Gelinas) Vellone, 94 of Souh Kingstown died peacefully on Saturday May 21, 2011 at South County Hospital, South Kingstown. She was the wife of the late Carlo Vellone Sr.

She was born in Moosup Connecticut, the daughter of Maxime and Delia (Dion) Gelinas.

Mrs. Vellone had been a Washington County resident for almost 70 years. She was a communicant and member of the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Thomas More Church in Narragnasett.

She is survived by four daughers, Lucille M. Smith of South Kingstown, Carol Ann DeSista of Cranston, June A. Semons of Tamarac, FL, and Margaret M. Carvalo of North Kingsown, a son, Carlo Vellone Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL., 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was the great-grandmother of Kaitln DeCubellis and the sister of the late Margaret Poitras, Agnes Lavellee, and Rita Beaugard.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thurday in S. Thomas More Church, Narragansett. Her burial followed in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
