~Margaret Robinson Williams~
Margaret Robinson Williams, 92, of Lenoir Park in Lenoir, NC, and formerly of N. King St. in Morganton died Monday, November 12, 2007 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir following a period of declining health.
She was born Feb. 28, 1915 in Gaston Co., NC, and was a daughter of the late Laban W. Robinson and Mary Huffman Robinson.
Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morganton where she volunteered at Mothers Morning out for over 18 years. She was also a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Margaret was employed for more than 30 years at Skyland Textiles. She was a volunteer for Red Cross and many other area organizations, and worked for the Burke County Board of Elections for 25 years. She also volunteered as a Blue Blazer at COMMA. Margaret was a charter member of the Grace Hospital Guild for 37 years.
She is survived by two sons, a brother, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by brothers, Eural, Clyde, Woodrow, and Richard Robinson; and sisters, Bessie Hovis, Eloua Ballenger, and Ruth McGinnis.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2007 at the First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
