Howard was united in Holy Matrimony at an early age with Annie P. Burton. To this union two children were born. He was later married to Bessie Lillian Jackson.
Fulfilling his employment with the Bowen family in Dalton, Georgia, he and Lillian were blessed with many years with the family. In his spare time, Howard enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dear friend, J.E Steele and watching the Atlanta Braves.
He resided in Dalton most of his life and moved to Columbus, Georgia at a later stage in life. He was a loving and caring person to all who knew him, as well as a proud, devoted father and grandfather.
Mr. Jackson had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined the Christian family of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia. There, he faithfully served as an usher for many years.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Lillian Broome Jackson; daughter Daisey Williams; sisters Bessie Mae Jackson Stanley and Rosa Jackson Brewer; and brother George Jackson, Jr.
Those surviving with cherished memories are a daughter, Ethel L. Allison of Columbus, Georgia; two nephews, George Stanley of Miami, Florida and Hilliard Stanley of Jacksonville, Florida; a niece, Georgia Mae Milton of Dalton, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, a special friend, Mr. J.E. Steele of Dalton, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral is Wednesday, April 11, 2011 in the William T. Ford Memorial chapel, Columbus, Georgia.
Interment at a later date in West Hill Cemetery, Dalton, Georgia.
