KILGORE, Texas – Services for Jim Anderson,
70, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. CDT
Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the Pirtle United
Methodist with the Reverend Dudley Plaisance
officiating. Burial will follow in Pirtle Cemetery.
Jim died Saturday,May 7, 2005, at his home
after a long struggle with emphysema.

He was born June 22, 1934, to Jack and Leona
Anderson in Sweetwater, Texas. Jim attended
Seymour public schools where he was a 1951
graduate of Seymour High School.

Mr. Anderson served our country in the United
States Army. He worked for GTE in Hobbs,
New Mexico, before moving to Kilgore in 1974.
Jim attended Kilgore College where he earned
his Associates of Arts degree in business.
Mr. Anderson retired from GTE and was an
entrepreneur in his retirement.
Jim was a member of the Pirtle United
Methodist Church. He was a great husband,
father and grandfather who will be missed by all.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Glenda
Benge Anderson of Kilgore; three sons and
daughters-in-law, John and Debbie Powers
of The Woodlands, Jim Bob Anderson and
Jud and Andrea Anderson of Katy; three
step-daughters, Jamie Benge of Houston,
Cindy Benge of Houston and Julie and Don
Holloway of Spring; six grandchildren,
Mason Powers and wife Candice of Austin,
Marin Powers of The Woodlands,
Christin Holloway of Spring, Shelby Holloway
of Spring, Paul Michael Anderson of Katy and
Caroline Anderson of Katy; and several
nieces and nephews.
