HOUSTON – Travis Eugene Barkley Sr., 65, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013. He was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Joyner, Ark., to Marvin Eugene Barkley and Dorothy May Andrews Barkley. He was a member of the American Legion and an Army veteran of Vietnam.

He is survived by his two sons, Travis Eugene Barkley Jr. (Shannon) of Houston and Billy Barkley of Pell City, Ala.; one daughter, Lisa Fremin of Arkansas; seven grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy May Andrews Barkley of Houston; two brothers, Steve Barkley of Houston and Wayne Barkley (Susan) of Hot Springs, Ark.; and one sister, Carol Shearon of Southhaven.

He is preceded by his dad, Marvin Eugene Barkley.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Memorial Funeral Home with graveside services following at Arbor Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
