Dorothy Rexroth Succumbs to Gunshot Wounds
Dorothy Grace Rexroth, 23, a former resident of Grandview, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. David Garner, 508 West Fourth street, Sunday about 9:30 p.m. of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. She had been despondent because of ill health, it was reported.
She was born in Grandview, Ia., May 31, 1917, the daughter of Reuben and Nellie Pelton Rexroth, and had been a resident of Muscatine the past six months. She attended the Grandview Community church.
Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben R. Rexroth of East Moline, ill., seven sisters, Etheylle, Laura, and Neva Rexroth and Mrs. David Garner of Muscatine, Marjorie and Betty Rexroth of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Coleen of East Moline; and six brothers, Everett and Dale of East Moline, Paul and Allen of Burlington, Ia., Charles of Independence, Kas., and John of Ames, Ia.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the George M. Wittich Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. from the Grandview community church. the Rev. Caleb Larsen of Grandview will officiate, and burial will be in the Grandview cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
