Troy Peters, 82, of Alma died Sunday, May 12, 2013 in his home.
He was born January 30, 1931 in Mountainburg to Manual and Ida Mae Peters.

He was an avid sportsman, and a master carpenter. He built everything from post offices, car washes, public schools, banks, federal housing projects, and custom homes. When he was an employee of the City of Alma, his handiwork can be seen in the bridge, the playground equipment, and the hiking trails in the Alma City Park. He could fix everything from a hairdryer to a weedeater. He was the most ingenious small engine repairman. He would lay in bed at night thinking about a problem and arise in the morning to fix it.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Peters.

He is survived by two daughters, Twana Alghojeh and husband Asghar of Oklahoma City, and Joyce Baugh and husband Russell of Katy, TX; four sons, Larry Peters and wife Peggy of Lavaca, Tony Peters and wife Athena of Alma, Van Peters and wife Nanette of Van Buren, and Mikel Peters and wife Charla of Van Buren; seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
