"A large congregation assembled at six o'clock last evening at the synagogue in Fulton streeet, to witness the ceremonies attending the dedication of the edifice to the worship of God. This synagogue was established in 1847, thirty-three years ago, and has lately been entirely re-fitted and improved throughout, the edifice being almost entirely new. Of the original members but two—Moses Herman and Jacob Newburgh—are living. [...] Mr. Jacob Newburgh is the vice-president. [...] The following are the names of the portion of the congregation: Moses Herman, Jacob Newburgh, Gottlieb Fischer, Lipman Hecht, Kaufman Hecht, Meyer Levison, Mrs. M. Wolfsheimer, Jacob Levy, Louis Ballin, H. Friedlander, Adolpf Bein, — Joseph, M. Lippmann, Mrs. H. Leventhal, Mrs. Jacob Hamburger, Mrs. M. Hamburger, M. Hirschfeld."
