Mrs. Burton, 72, of Stonington Dies This Morn
Mrs. Catherine E. Burton, 72, Stonington, died at 8:30 o'clock this morning in the Ashcraft Nursing Home, Pana. She had been in ill health for a year.
She was born June 14, 1885, at Bunker Hill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Carroll. She was married to Lemuel Burton, June 10, 1941, in Staunton. She had lived in the Stonington community her entire married life, going there from Bunker Hill. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Stonington.
Surviving are her husband, Lemuel; five sons, Leonard, William, Donald, Walter of Taylorville; Carl, Stonington; two daughters, Mrs. Noreen Nolan, Taylorville; Mrs. Deila Myers, Stonington; four brothers, Joe Carroll, Fort Worth, Texas; Tom Carroll, Stonington; John Carroll and Patrick Carroll, Litchfield; and 12 grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Connolly Funeral Home where arrangements are incomplete.
