Marge A. Blecha (1932-2012)

MACHIAS - Marge A. Blecha, of South Main Street, died Monday (April 16, 2012) at the Pines in Machias following a long illness. Born Jan, 10, 1932, in Franklinville, she was the daughter of Victor and Beatrice Brady Milks. On Jan. 14, 1950, in Franklinville, she married Maurice Blecha Sr., who died in 1978.

Mrs. Blecha attended Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville and was employed at the Electrical Reactance Company of Franklinville for several years. She retired in 1990 from the Cattaraugus County Division of Nursing Homes in Machias after 30 years of service in the Food Service Department.

Mrs. Blecha was a member of the First Baptist Church of Franklinville and the Franklinville Senior Citizens. She enjoyed travel, reading and crocheting.

Surviving are three daughters, Maureen (Nick) Bocharski of Machias, Terry (Larry) Nichols of Franklinville and Joan (Skip) Lord of Houghton; two sons, Maurice Blecha of Machias and Larry (Lucinda) Blecha of Richmond, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Tafton "Skip" Milks of Machias; two sisters, Joyce Steffenhagen of Machias, and Tate Ulmer of Franklinville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband and two brothers, Victor Milks and Rodney Milks.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Machias.
