He was born June 23, 1894, in the town of Holland, where he had lived until his marriage to Miss Adalia Stanelle, May 12, 1920. He established a blacksmith shop in the town of Brillion, which expanded into an implement business which was transferred to the village of Forest Junction.
Following the death of his wife Aug. 3, 1934, he married Miss Laura Schmeiser of Chilton on Oct. 10, 1935.
Survivors are his wife, Laura; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Seybold, Forest Junction and Miss Florence Keller, nurse at Bellin Memorial hospital, Green Bay; five sons, Reuben, Lester, Walter, Howard and Earl, all of here; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Caroline Keller of Forest Junction; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Loefer, Hilbert, R. 2; Mrs. Edward Hesse, Appleton and Mrs. Wm. Herber, Green Bay; also Three brothers, Oscar and Edward Appleton; and Clarence at Kohler.
The body will be at the Luecker funeral home, Brillion, until Friday morning when it will be removed to Evangelical United Brethren church here where it may be viewed until that afternoon when the Rev. G. L. Bursack will conduct funeral services.
