BIENER, EDITH YVETTE (OELBAUM), 78, of Providence, died October 3, 2010. Born in Providence on October 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Hassenfeld) Oelbaum. She was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Biener was a graduate of Classical High School Class of '49, a graduate of Pembroke College (now Brown University) Class of '53, and was a 1982 graduate of RIC with a Master's Degree in Counseling. She was an active volunteer in many civic organizations, and was a former member of Mishkon Tfiloh and Temple Torat Yisrael. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 5th at 12 NOON in the SUGARMAN-SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 458 Hope St., Providence with burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brown University Class of '53 Scholarship Fund, C/O Ellen Knasin, PO Box 8791, Cranston, RI 02920. Shiva will be observed at the home of Ellen and Paul Knasin on Tues 6-8, Wed & Thur 2-4 & 6-8, Fri 2-4, Sat 7-9, Sun 2-4 & 6-8pm.
