He was born Sept. 30, 1883 at Earlton KS. son of Walter Hillis & Laura Alice Hester. He lived in Anderson Co. most of his life, moving to California in 1942, then returning to Garnett in 1963.
Veteran of US army in 1917 with 117th Ammunition train in Rainbow Division in Europe and France.
Preceded by 3 brothers, Leo, Walter, Glenn, and sister Edith.
Survived by brother Rollo, and sisters Dorthy and Rose.
