Pneumonia Fatal To

Methodist Minister
Rev. J.B. Blackburn, 71, superanuated Methodist minister residing south of the Homer Oil Field, died Monday, March 16, at a Shreveport hospital of pneumonia.
Funeral services were held at the Homer Methodist church Tuesday, Rev W.H. Giles, pastor, and Rev. A.L. New, of Bernice, officiated. Burial was held in the Arlington cemetery here.
Rev. Blackburn had filled appointments in Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana. He resided here for the last ten years. His wife died about fourteen months ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. E.M. Pittman, Homer; Mrs. R.P. Dunaway, New Iberia; Mrs. J.C. Ferguson, Fort Wayne, Ind.; six sons, J.A. of Tulsa, Okla.; P.D. of Oiltown, Okla.; C.B. and H.H., both of Shreveport; Paul, of Paris, Texas, and Morris of Magnolia.
