Jackie L. Dicus, age 57, of Midland, passed away at 2 A.M. Tues., May 24, 2005, at his residence in Midland. He was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Coal City, the son of Jesse America (Rawley) Dicus.

He formerly worked in the Dietary Dept. at Union Hospital in Terre Haute & at Korexal Janitorial Supply in Terre Haute. He was a member of Faithway Baptist Church in Worthington & had served as a deacon at the Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg. He was an avid Shakamak Little League baseball fan & Indiana University basketball fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Jaci Sue Pierce, & her husband, Paul, of Jasonville, one grandson, Donald G. Pierce of Jasonville, four sisters, Rosalie Buckallew of Indianapolis, Helen Fougerousse of Jasonville, Bessie Bays & Maxine Dicus, both of Terre Haute, two brothers, Richard Dicus of Indianapolis & “Butch” Vernon Dicus, of Terre Haute, & by several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Kaye (Canada) Dicus, Feb. 5, 1992, two sisters, Edna Basham & Pearl Dicus, one brother, Joe Dicus, & his mother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Fri., May 27, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
