TAYLOR W. ROSS DEAD
Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon at Christ Church.
Mr. Taylor William Ross, an official in the Thomas Graham Co., Inc., of this city, died suddenly at 1:30 a.m. today of a heart attack at his home, 212 East street. Although he had been bedfast for a week his death came unexpectedly.
Born in Madison, he was a son of the late John B. and Frances Bachman Ross. He attended school here as a boy and was graduated from Rose Polytechnic college with the class of 1899 and then finished a post graduate course at Cornell university the following year.
After receiving his education he performed coast guard service in Florida and Alaska for a time, then went to Newport News, Va., where he was employed by a ship building and dry dock company for a number of years.
He returned to Madison in 1925 and had since served as an officer with the Thomas Graham Co., Inc. The factory is situated on north West street, near the Pearl Packing Co.
Mr. Ross was married in 1922 to Rosa Saunders of Norfolk, Va., who survives with three children. The children are John, at Columbia military academy, Columbia, Tenn., and Nancy and Mary Nash at home. Surviving also is a sister, Miss Frances ross, of east Main street. Mr. Ross was an uncle of J. Graham Ross, who is also a member of the Thomas Graham company.
He had been an active member of Christ Episcopal church and held the position as junior warden in the church at the time of his death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Christ Church with Rev. J.C. Black officiating, and interment will be in Springdale cemetery. Friends may call at the Ross residence prior to the services.
