Bettie Hodges Adams, 88, of Ferrum, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born June 2, 1924, a daughter of the late Howard and Mary Hodges.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Adams on January 23, 2012; and sisters, Sarah Young and Sena Hodges.

Bettie retired from E.I. Dupont with 32 years of service. She loved traveling, bluegrass music and her church.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Elmer Arrington, of Ferrum; one grandson and wife, Brian and Mandy Arrington, of Rocky Mount; nephew, Michael Young; special nieces, Betty Altice and Tina Stewart; numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Faith Home, Trinity Mission, Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, Dr. Dulaney and Fairview Church of the Brethren for all their care and concern.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel on Sunday, May 12, 2013, with Pastor Jeff Wray officiating.

Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Church of the Brethren, c/o Thomas Young, 60 Belmont Avenue, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Sunday May 12, 2013, at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
