Ray Ross, in the same car, received bad bruises, but escapted serious injuries when a tire blew out and the car made the plunge. The accident occurred as the boys were on their way to the Nelson fair.
Dr. Taylor of Hebron was called and found Jud's neckbroken, and a hole in hisskull (sic). Ray was still dazed.
Jud was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Lutes. They have the symypathy (sic) of many friends.
Judd Cloud Lutes was born to William Branum Lutes and Cora Mae Lutes, February 14, 1924 at Stapleton, Nebraska. He departed this life, September 1, 1943, at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 11 days at Hebron, Nebraska.
He was baptized, April 28th, 1936, and taken into the Methodist church (sic) of Hebron, as a member at the same time.
He attended Hebron High School where he was a member of the high school bond. Since the end of his school days, he has farmed with his father, southeast of Hebron.
He was a loving and happy son and brother, and was always glad to lend a helping hand.
He leaves to mourn his loss: his mother, Cora Mae Lutes and father William Branum Lutes, a sister Jessie, two brothers, Robert and James; all of Hebron, and a third brother Dale of Lexington, Nebr. A brother, Benjamin, preceded him in death in 1919 at Stapleton, Nebraska. Many other relatives and friends also mourn his passing.
