Elwood Maxwell Benson: born January 28, 1915 in Edmonton, AB. Born to Alexander and Maggie Benson, the youngest of seven children lived in Edmonton until he completed his grade 12. 1934 he moved to the family farm in the Alcomdale area. He helped farm with his brother Alex and also worked on Survey. 1937 married Orpha Aileen Fulton of the Alcomdale district. From 1937 - 1966 Orpha and Elwood stayed on the farm eventually acquiring three quarter sections. They had 6 children and were very involved in community and church. In 1956 they rented the farm out and Elwood took a job servicing Gas Wells in the area. 1966 the farm was sold and he and Orpha and the two youngest children moved to Edmonton. Elwood retired in 1980. Elwood suffered from dementia for several years before his death, December 16, 1998 in Edmonton, Alberta.
