Lizzie was the 3rd born of 6 children of Luke Jackson and Eliza Jane Hall of Clermont county, OH. The couple relocated to Clay county, IN which is where Lizzie was born. After Luke's death. Eliza remarried Joseph France a widower originally from Tuscarawas county, OH. Lizzie was married to the elder Joseph's son also named Joseph France on 24 Aug 1871 in Clay county.

Woman Dies at Shepardsville

Mrs. Elizabeth France, age 80, died late Friday night at the home of her son, Charles France, in Shepardsville. Mrs. France had been ill nearly a week with pneumonia.

Surviving Mrs. France are: the son, Charles, with whom she lived; and two daughters, Mrs. Florence Whitted of 638 South Eight street, Clinton, and Mrs. Emma Edwards of Chicago. Eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Whitted, South Eighth street. The Rev. H.H. Wagner, pastor of the local Christian church is to officiate. Burial is to be in Clinton.
