With deep feelings of profound sorrow the people of Clarion heard the news of the death of Mrs.John I. Dunlap last Wednesday, March 5, 1913, which occurred at her home on South Street at fifteen minutes after one o'clock a.m. She had been in poor health for some time but no immediate danger was apprehended until she was seized by an
attack of neuralgia of the heart which she did not have the strength to throw off and she laid down the burdens of life and her spirit
took its flight to Him by whom it was given.
Miss Nettie Sloan, daughter of John Miller and Eliza Sloan was born at Leatherwood,Clarion county, September 6, 1866. She was united in marriage with John I. Dunlap of Clarion by the late Dr. J.S. Elder on July 9,1891. Her husband and three children, Ruth Helen, Murray Sloan and James Paul Dunlap, are left to mourn their bereavement of a
loving wife and devoted mother. Two children, Claire and Clifford, preceded their mother in death. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. I.E. Collner of Clarion, and Mrs. N. Hall of New Kensington.
Mrs. Dunlap was a lady of genial disposition and charming personality and made lasting friendships wherever she went She was a genuinely Christian lady and had been a member of the Presbyterian church of Clarion for many years and her daily life was a living testimony of her faith showing forth in deeds of love and kindness just what she professed.
