Nell told me on the phone that she was named for family friend and Virginia native, Confederate Major General James Ewell Brown "Jeb" Stuart (February 6, 1833 - May 12, 1864).

Photo is of Miss Nellie "Nell" Stuart Bloxton of Williamsburg, VA, on her wedding day, Tuesday afternoon, December 23, 1941, to Irving Daniel Burton of Lewes, Delaware, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Daniel Burton of Millsboro, Delaware.

The wedding was at the Presbyterian Church at Georgetown, Delaware, with the bride wearing a two-piece dress of gala turquoise crepe with a hat of the same material. Her flowers were a corsage of spun gold roses.

For the two years before her wedding, the bride was librarian in the high school at Lewes, Delaware, where the bride met her groom and where they resided after the wedding.

Mr. Burton was graduated from the Lewes High School and later from the Pierce Business College in Philadelphia.
