Earl Vickery was a motorcycle policeman for the East Point Police Department in East Point, Ga. He died on Nov. 25, 1938 from injuries received when he was thrown from his cycle in the course of chasing a speeding car on Nov. 20, 1938. According to a witness, the officer was after an automobile ahead of a trackless trolley when his bikes wheel struck a bump throwing Vickery against the side of the trolley.
The Patrolman was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died 5 days after the accident. He was a resident of East Point and lived at 531 Dorsey Ave in the city. Officer Vickery had been with the department for three years and was 31 years old.
