Derral Ray McNabb, of Amarillo, TX was born in Brownfield, TX, on April 22, 1945. On April 26, 2013, he suffered a heart attack while working in West Texas. He was 68 years old. Derral Ray McNabb (known by most as Ray) served 8 years in the Army, including 1 year in the Vietnam War. He received the Army Commendation medal, the Bronze Star, and the Silver Star.
Ray was a life-long entrepreneur, working mostly in the vent-a-hood industry where he owned and operated Ray McNabb Enterprises and Unified Business Services, Inc. In addition, Ray, along with his wife of 48 years, Patricia (April) McNabb, owned and operated several other businesses, including Harleton Family Hair Care, Creative Expressions, The Good Times Club, and His and Hers Salon in the eighties.
Derral Ray McNabb is survived by his wife, Patricia (April) McNabb of Harleton, TX; his three sons and their spouses, Danny McNabb, Franklin McNabb, Christopher McNabb, Glynes Hodges, and Christy McNabb; three siblings, Peggy Clyburn, Delton McNabb, and Trayce Primm; eight grandchildren, Justin McNabb, Shawn McNabb, Colin McNabb, Kenly McNabb, Carson McNabb, Nathan Tinsley, Erica Goodwin, and Crystal Tinsley.
Ray was the fourth of six children born to George Herman McNabb and Gladys Opal (Hart) McNabb and was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Donald George McNabb and Gordon Dale McNabb.
A grave side service will be held for family in Plains, TX on May 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
