Hazen Dean Atkinson, 96, died March 26, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family in American Fork, Utah. Born March 31, 1914 in Woodruff, Utah the son of Hazen Lee and Viola Dean Atkinson. Dean married LaVeta Inez Smith May 17, 1939 in Green River, Wyoming, she preceded him in death February 4, 1986. He later married Melba Telleson Hill January 16, 1988 in Stockton, Missouri.

Dean served his country during WWII. He later worked for the Union Pacific, and Weston Hotels.

Dean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Melba served an LDS mission together at the Dallas LDS Temple after which he returned home and served as an ordinance worker in both the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples for a combined 17 years of service.
