Harvey James Ball, 63, of Clinton, died Jan. 3, 2001.

Services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. The Rev. Michael Holm will officiate. Pallbearers will be Frank Piatz, Mike and Rodney Schultz, Jack Liepert, Paul Jenkin and Gary Watters. Honorary pallbearers wilI be all the men and women who he served with on the Clinton Police Department during his 33 years of service. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the Clinton AMVETS.

Visitation will be at the Lemke Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. until the service time Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Police Officers Ministries Inc., Mercy Hospice or a favorite charity

Mr. Ball was born Nov. 18, 1937, in Wilton, the son of Bernhardt E. F. and Alvina Johanna Utesch Ball. He married Frances Ballanger in 1964. He later married Arnette K. Hosette April 22,1972.

He attended Zion Lutheran schools through junior high and graduated from Wilton High School. He attended business college in Minnesota where he studied accounting.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

He worked with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Chicago and Clinton, before joining the Clinton Police Department where he was advanced to Sergeant.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, AMVETS, and the National Izaak Walton League. His hobbies included fishing and smoking meats.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Ann Ball in 1947; a niece, Diana Frances Johnson; and a nephew, Dwayne Schwarz; and his father preceded him in 1983.
