BRUNELLA SAVOIE MCLAREN, 78, of Texas City passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at her residence. She was born July 13, 1934 to Joseph and Hilda Savoie in Rayne, Louisiana.

Brunella was a residence of Texas City since 1965 and was formerly from Galveston and La Marque.

In her life she was a devout Catholic, prolific artist, genealogist, writer and graphoanalysis. Her genuine passions for helping others lead her to the sciences of natural healing and foot reflexology. She cared for and helped many people in her life. She was well read and extensively self-educated. Brunella was a den mother for the Boy Scouts and a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Catholic Daughters of Texas City and was in the choir for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald E. "Eddy" McLaren, in-laws John and Bertha McLaren, son Steven, granddaughter Donalyn, brother Calvin, brother-in-law Zeke, sons-in-law Tom and John Posey; survivors are her five daughters; Cynthia Posey of Texas City, Rhonda Posey of La Marque, Donna McLaren of Texas City, Tracey McLaren of La Marque and Lisa Ann McLaren of Del Valle; two sons and daughters-in-law; Shawn and Lori McLaren of Kyle and Daryl and Lisa McLaren of Cleveland; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas with Father Gerardo Zendejas officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
