A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, in St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Salem for Ulah Margaret Steele Gittings, who died Nov. 26 at age 86.

Ulah Margaret Steele was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Lake Andes, S.D., and was raised in Camas, Wash. She graduated from Camas High School and Northwestern School of Commerce. She was a secretary for Crown Zellerbach and a homemaker. She moved in 1979 to Salem. In 1941, she married James A.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Catherine L. Staggs and LeAnne R. Steiger; sisters, Andrea Louthau and Neva Crisman; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
