James served in the United States Navy during WWII.
On May 14, 1949 he married the former Vonetta Knabenshue. She preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 1997.
James was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church and had retired from Scott Paper Co. in 1986 after working there 38 years.
James is survived by two sons, Les (Cindy) Sandberg of Reedsburg, WI and Ted (RuthAnn) Sandberg of Peshtigo, WI;
one daughter, Sharon Wyatt of Beaufort, S.C.;
one brother, Alvin Sandberg;
two sisters, Marion Jacobson & Edna Baker;
Six grandchildren, Ellen Sandberg, James (Jay) Wyatt; Jeff, Miranda, Brittney, & Dale Sandberg.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Al Wyatt;
one sister, Evelyn;
three brothers: Bill, Ed, & Charles.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11:00 A.M. with a luncheon and fellowship to follow at the Harmony United Methodist Church. Rev. Norman Bude will be officiating. Burial will be at the Harmony Cemetery.
