Passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on April 28, 2013. Ellen Kiningham was born on June 28, 1919. She spent her 93 years in a spirited life, full of energy and love.
Ellen is predeceased by her devoted husband of 68 years Robert (Bob) Kuerst. Her surviving family include loving daughters Dianne Kuerst (and Elmer) Thielman of Eugene, Oregon; Beth Kuerst (and Bob Perry) Meyer of Sugarloaf, California; Christine Kuerst (and Dick) Kirkpatrick of San Jose, California; seven grandchildren (Kelly, Kristopher, Kamron, Jeffrey, Michael, Meghan and Kevin) and six great-grandchildren (Leanne, Connor, Bodhi, Hannah, Devin and Cody).
Ellen was born in Danville, Illinois to Josephine and Robert Kiningham. Her childhood was full of fun with three sisters. Her college years were spent at Lake Forest where she met and married Robert Kuerst. They moved to San Carlos, California with her husband's company, Bethlehem Steel.
Ellen was an active homemaker and participated in activities with Trinity Presbyterian Church, PTA, and Girl Scouts as her daughters grew up. She loved her friends and family dearly. Mom was thrilled with the birth of every grandchild and was an adoring involved grandmother. She spent her later years with Dad in a condo in Hayward and loved the new neighbors surrounding her and the view of the canyon.
A graveside memorial will be held in Eugene, Oregon on Mom's birthday weekend, June 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. She will be buried at Lane Memorial Gardens.
