Mrs. Mary Herink departed this life August 27, 1924 at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 20 days at Council Grove in Morris County, Kansas, where she was living with her youngest son and daughter.
Mary Novotny was a native of Bohemia, from where she came with her parents, brothers and sisters at the age of 12 years, to Pawnee County NE. where she was united in marriage to Mr. Joseph Hernik in the year 1886.
They lived near Narka 14 years where her husband preceded her in death 7 years ago. She moved with her family to Council Grove in the year 1919, where she passed away.
Mrs. Herink leaves to mourn her death, 4 sons, 2 daughters and 9 grandchildren. Also she leaves her aged mother, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Her body was brought to her brother's home, Louis Novotny, of Narka where the funeral was held.
The burial was in (Kasha) National Cemetery south of Narka, Kansas
