J.E. (Troy) Shemwell, 37, died Friday morning at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana, of a heart attack. Mr. Shemwell had been in poor health for the past two years. Funeral services will be held here in the city, but arrangements have not been completed yet.
Mr. Shemwell was born in Stewart County, Tennessee, the son of J.D. Shemwell and the late Gracie Stagner Shemwell. He made his home in Hopkinsville from 1929 until 1940, when he moved to Indianapolis.
His survivors include his widow, Mayme Epply Shemwell, and one son, James Shemwell; his father J.D. Shemwell; four sisters, Mrs. Earline Brown, Mrs. Florence Marsh and Miss Joyce Shemwell, all of this city, and Mrs. Bessie Brown of Clarksville, Tenn.; four brothers, Clarence Shemwell of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., Bishope Shemwell of Trenton, Duncan E. and Sidney N. Shemwell of the city; Four half brothers, Doug, Dorris, James and Harvey all of the city. An older brother, Jesse Shemwell, preceded him to the grave three weeks ago
