Frances Marie Shuyler Simpson, 89, Independence, Kansas passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Regal Estate of Glenwood in Independence.

Frances was born in Florence, KS on December 28, 1923 to Clyde and Cleo (Martin) Shuyler.

Frances attended and graduated from Holyrood Rural High School and then attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson.

On April 29, 1944 Frances married Clarence Simpson in San Antonio, TX, and the couple made their home in Independence.

Frances was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers; Merton Shuyler, Clifton Shuyler and Norman "Max" Shuyler.

Survivors include two daughters Karen Fiske, Olathe, KS; Cheryl Maris, Valley Center, KS; three grandchildren, Suzanne Fisk, Jason Maris and Jennifer ( Luke) Cole, two great grandchildren, Drayton Maris and Karson Maris, and two step great grandchildren, Lakin Cole and Ryckert Cole.
