Mary Cardwell Stamey, age 83 of Maryville, TN left us to be with the Lord Sunday, July 24, 2011 while in Hospice care at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, the DAR and the Park Wives Association throughout her husband's career with the National Park Service. She was a retired school teacher who last taught Science & Home Economics in the Tupelo, MS public school system. She worked as an Interpreter on the Blue Ridge Parkway in VA. Most recently she retired as a Real Estate Broker serving the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Mary was tremendously proud of her family spending many years researching & publishing her family Genealogy. She was preceded in death by: Husband, Jesse F. Stamey; Parents, Samuel Ray & Mary Frances Cardwell; Siblings, Schley (Emerson) Watson, James Cardwell, & John Cardwell. Survived by: Children, Bruce (Suzanne) Stamey, Marsha (John) Bove; Grandchildren, James Edward Stamey & Jessica Marie Bove; Siblings, Anna (Bill) Blalock, Lois Kelley, Ruth (Ralph) Szweda, Francis Cardwell and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
