Carl Lester "Buzz" Green was born on June 3, 1919 in a dug out near Jordan, NM to Sam and Willie Green. He was the youngest of eight. When he was two he contracted polio, a disability that effected his leg, but not his spirit. When Buzz was thirteen, his father died of liver cancer. He attended school and graduated high school from McAlister, NM in 1938. On December 10, 1940 he married Thuringa Bailey. Together they had seven children. Four girls and three boys. One son, Paul died at eleven months. He and Thuringa drove school bus for McAlister, and House schools, farmed and raised their children. They retired in 1981 and moved to Tucumcari, NM so he could be closer to doctors and his brother and sister. He was called to Heaven on March 18, 1992 in Albuquerque, NM. He is buried at Browning Cemetery, next to his wife Thuringa, son Paul, and his parents Sam and Willie Green.
