Services for Anna M. (Ann) Berryhill will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be at noon at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, where she will be interred next to her beloved Carl.
Mrs. Berryhill died April 29, 2013, in Mansfield. She was born July 16, 1926, in Sparkman, Ark., to Noah Beasley and Katherine Hopper Beasley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a talented seamstress and an active member of the Killeen Garden Club for many years. She loved being a homemaker. She was devoted to her family, church, and country. She was an active church and community volunteer.
Mrs. Berryhill started the "I Can Cope" support group through the American Cancer Society, after she had breast cancer surgery in 1978. As there were no resources in the Killeen area, she helped train volunteers to visit and assist post-surgery breast cancer patients with breast prostheses, as well as emotional support.
She traveled the world as a military wife. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church from 1973 until declining health in 2010, when both Ann and Carl moved into the Meridian Assisted Living Facility in Temple. After almost 68 years of marriage, Mr. Berryhill died March 28, 2011. She had lived at Walnut Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care near her daughter and family in Mansfield since 2011.
Mrs. Berryhill was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Noel Dean Simpson; her son, Joey Alfred Berryhill; and her spouse, Carlie A. Berryhill.
Survivors include her daughter, Carlon (Berryhill) Cloud; son-in-law, Gerald L. (Jerry) Cloud of Mansfield; granddaughters, Robin L. Cloud of Grand Prairie and Alison (Cloud) Palermo and her spouse, Kenneth G. Palermo, of Houston; great-granddaughter, Riley Cloud of Grand Prairie; great-grandson, Cason Cloud of Grand Prairie; great-grandsons, Kyle Palermo and Kory Palermo of Houston; sisters, Virginia Meeks, Majorie Fleming and Catherine Crawford all of Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and many longtime friends.
