∼Ray C. Gober, 83, went to his heavenly home on October 14, 2009. Ray was born March 25, 1926 in Monroe OK to John and Vola Gober. They lived in various locations in SE Oklahoma before residing in Poteau. Ray was a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, World War Two Veteran, church choir director, and printer. His hobbies included flower gardening, woodworking, and general tinkering. He always had time to help others that were facing challenges. He loved each spring and the challenges he faced having to plant the multiple flats of flowers and plants he and his beloved wife of 63 years purchased. He loved the cats that he always seemed to adopt from all over the neighborhood. He loved his family and would always look forward to seeing them and showing them whatever the status of his current project. He is survived by a family that loved him which includes his wife Euldean Gober, his sister, Betty Williams, his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and George Valentine, his son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Jana Gober. His five grandchildren, Duane Valentine, Jason Valentine, Joshua Valentine and wife Misty, Rachel Gober, and Grant Ray Gober. His five great grandchildren, Michael Valentine, Blake and Emilie Valentine and their mother Melissa Valentine, Isabella Valentine and Lola Valentine. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Vola Gober, his brothers, Hershel Gober and Junior Gober, and his son Gary Gober. Services will be 10am Monday in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service in Del City OK.
