HUBBARD Mr. Raymond D. Murphy, 89 of Glenn View Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Hubbard died Friday morning, September 7, 2001, at the home. He was born August 30, 1912 in Hubbard a son of Dennis and Catherine O’Neill Murphy and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mr. Murphy was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Hubbard for 28 years before retiring in 1955. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, served with the Chemical Warfare Division of the United States Army during the European and Pacific Theaters during World War II. Mr. Murphy was a 1931 graduate of Hubbard High School and was an avid golfer.

He leaves a sister, Anne Thorpe of Cortland and a brother – in – law, Jack J. Moran of Hubbard. A sister, Kathleen Moran is deceased.

Funeral services will be held Monday 9:30 AM at the Kelley – Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard.
