Luther (Jim) Sampson, 81, 393-D Windsor Manor West, died Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. at Memorial Hospital after a one-year illness.
The former resident of Broadway Corners was born Sept. 25, 1900 in Vinton County, Ohio to Walter and Mary J. (Wine) Sampson. He resided in the Marysville area for most of his life, however.
Mr. Sampson was retired after 40 years as a carpenter and construction worker.
He married the former Ethel May Culver on Sept. 25, 1920. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, two grandsons and their families, all of Worthington; 6 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Wilda Earhart, Sequin, Texas (d. 21 Jan 1996 in TX), survives, as do two brothers Bill Sampson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Harley Sampson, Raymond (died 4 May 1982).
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at the Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home, Marysville, with the Rev. Gerald Barlow officiating. Interment will be in the Broadway Cemetery.
