Lera Kathleen Bowles Hawley, 83, of Salem, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013. She was born on March 15, 1930, in Callaway, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sallie Bowles; husband, Jerry Cline Hawley; daughter, Susan Hawley Davenport; siblings, Russell Bowles and his wife Ann, Rachel Wright and her husband Eldridge, Raymond Bowles and his wife Ora Lee, and her brother-in-law, Joe Feazell.

She is survived by her children Kevin Hawley and his wife Rebecca, Jerri Barron and her husband David, and Greta Bratton; her grandchildren Ian Davenport, Samantha Hawley Blankenship and her husband Bobby, Makayla Hawley, Isaac, Benjamin and Isabel Barron; her sisters Christine Maxey and her husband Harold, and Elizabeth Feazell; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Oakey's North Chapel, 6732 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11 am with Pastor Cameron Smith officiating.
