She was a member of the New Home Methodist Church and had lived in the Springfield, Missouri, area since 1977. She was a former employee of Basler Electric in Corning, Arkansas.
On December 6, 1930, Gladys Shelton married Clarence "Buck" Allen in Clay County, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and six sisters.
Survivors included two daughters: Janetta Moore of Bolivar, Missouri, and Sharon Goodman of Granite City, Illinois; one son: Hubert Allen of Reyno, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was on Friday, November 28, 2003, at the Ermert Funeral Home in Corning, Arkansas. The funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29, 2003, at the funeral home with Rev. Billy Snow officiating.
