Charles Pinkney Faw was the eighth of eleven known children of George Parkes Faw (1824-1901) and Laura Dickson Faw (1830-1901), who married 15 Oct 1846 at Ashe County, North Carolina. The family moved to Tennessee in c1854.

Charles married Blanche (went by Blannie?) Hannah DeVault (1859-1944) on 05 May 1888 at Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee. Charles and Blanche were the parents of six known children, namely:

1. George Isaac Faw (1889-1940)
2. Tom Faw (1893-1893)
3. Joe Faw (1893-1893)
4. William Weldon Faw (1896-1980)
5. Harry Lee Faw (1896-1981)
6. Walter Rufus Faw (1900-1901)
