Dorothy I. (Jean) Cook, age 80 of Maryville, TN went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and employed with the Kresge-Kmart Corp. for 20 years. Dorothy was a loving mother who will be forever remembered by her sons and all those that loved and cherished her. She fought many battles in this life and faced each one trusting in her Savior Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by: Husbands, Curtis W. (Bill) Cook and Curtis J. Pierce; Parents, Roy Best and Kathleen (Hatcher) Best; Step Mother, Stella Best; Special Aunt, Belle Breeden and many other church friends and relatives. Survivors include: Sons, Curtis Michael Pierce, R. Thomas Pierce and Terry E. (Chuck) Pierce all of Maryville, TN, and Ronald Lee Pierce of McDonough, GA; Step-sons, Ken Cook and Fred Cook; Sisters, Bobbie (Mrs. Doug Wilburn) of Louisville, Shirley (Mrs. Frank Burris) of Maryville; Nieces, Sheila (Mrs. Scott Shores), Kelly & Tracy; Grandchildren, Danny Pierce & wife Kimberly and Ronnie Pierce Jr. all of McDonough, GA; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Kavlin and Chanum of McDonough, GA; Special Aunt, Wilma Hatcher and many more friends, family and church friends. Celebration of Life will be at 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Buchanan officiating. A private graveside service will be at Grandview Cemetery.
