When Willard Melvin Bennett was born about 1873 in Bremer, Iowa, his father, Benjamin, was 41 and his mother, Elizabeth (Slater), was 38. He moved with his wife Maria Mathilde Clausen to North Dakota and had three sons and one daughter between 1906 and 1912.
By 1920 he was living in Tacoma Washington.
He died on November 4, 1960, in Tacoma, at the age of 85, and was buried in Lakewood, Washington.
