Charles William Adolph founded what is now known as the Wilson Furniture and Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Ohio in the Fall of 1898. It was customary for furniture owners to also provide funeral home services because of their talents in carpentry which lend to building caskets. Adolph prospered because he was multilingual and was able to converse with customers who did not speak English. Upon his death the ownership of the business was transferred to his son-in-law, Howard H. Wilson, and has been in the Wilson family ever since.
