William Bennett b. 1749, probably, Prince William County, Va. in the part that is now Farquier Co, m. 1st ca. 1771, some one unknown to this Author, m. 2. c. 1784, in Pittyslvania co, Va. Rachel White b. 1764 Va. (daughter of Benjamin White) d. 9 Aug, 1837, Fayetteville, Fayette, Co, Ga. William died 17 April 1825, Jackson Co, Ga. and is buried near Jefferson, Jackson Co, Ga. I have been informed by a Annette B. Seltzer he is buried on his own land, in a cemetery called, "Bennett Cemetery".
I have located Rachel White Bennett in Fayette Co, Ga.
but he is not on FindAGrave.

His first wife's information has been lost in history and the marriage date so far.
I have researched and cannot find a marriage license.
Children by his first wife;
1. Hezekiah BENNETT, b. 1773
2. Armstead BENNETT, b. 1776
3. Judith BENNETT, b. 1778
4. Sarah BENNETT, b. 1779

He and Rachel's children;
5. Mary Polly BENNETT, b. 6 Aug 1785

7. Rachel Bennett b. 19 Sept, 1789 Pittsylvania Co, Va. died before 1822, was not mentioned in her father's will.
8. William Bennett b. 15 Oct 1791

10. Joseph Bennett b. 1 May 1796 died very young before 1822. Arnold Bennett, son of Asa, wrote in a letter on Feb 11, 1917, that Joseph, while very young, was killed accidentally, on the farm by some runaway stock. He was not mentioned in his father's will.
12. Miriam Bennett b. 2 June 1798, Pittsylvania Co, Va. died before 1822, was not mentioned in her father's will.
13. Patsey Bennett b. 29 Mar 1800, Patsey was still alive in 1822, because she is given in her father's will. I believe Patsey never married and is probably buried with her father at his burial because she is not listed in the cemetery with her mother Rachel.
14. Thomas A. Bennett b. 23 Mar 1802.
15. Asa Bennett b. 21 Feb 1805. Jackson County, Georgia d. 30 Jul 1886, Hall County, Georgia

Information on Nancy was obtained by
Frank N. Edens from the application of Loie (Waters) Yarborough to the DAR in 1949. In her application was a listing of the children of William Bennett and Rachel White Bennett and their birth dates. She gave the reference for those as two family bibles~~one owned by Mrs. Genie C. Duke, Decatur, Ga. and the other owned by Mrs. H.H. Thompson, Columbus, Ga.

1820 Census I have found William, Rachel, and 1 daughter.
So I am assuming that the other daughters were dead at this point (Rachel, Miriam, and Nancy)and Patsey was the only daughter still living, except for the married daughters.

~~~~~Actually, your ancestor is well known in these parts. He was a soldier of the American Revolution and is buried in a family cemetery on his land. I may be able find the Bennett graveyard – I will try. You might see if your library or the big library in Austin has a copy of the Bennett book "The Bennett Family" from which some of these copies were made. There is quite a bit of information in our library, the things I am sending you only scratch the surface. I will look at Don Saylor's book of graves and see whether the grave is marked or not.~~~~~Annette B. Seltzer.
