Mrs. Margaret E. Shirk MIFFLINBURG –
Mrs. Margaret Ella Shirk, 80, of 446 Chestnut St. died Wednesday afternoon in the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where she was a patient for one day. She had been in failing health for two weeks. Mrs. Shirk was a former resident of Williamsport.
Born Aug. 3, 1903, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd L. and Lillie Karney Corter. Her first husband, Carl Maneval, died in 1970. In 1973, she was married to Ray F. Shirk.
Mrs. Shirk was a member of the Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg RD2..
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three stepchildren, Mrs. Lois Pick and Bruce R., both of Laurelton, and Mrs. Betty J. Roller of Lewisburg; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grand-children ; two stepgreat-great-grand-children; and one sister, Mrs. Marion Jacoby of Louisville, Ky. A daughter, Mrs. Betty Young, died in 1980.
A memorial service will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg RD2, by the Rev. Ned L. Knisley. Burial will be Monday at the convenience of the family in the Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call in the church tomorrow from 1 until the time of the service. There will be no viewing or visitation this evening. Funeral arrangements were made by the Strunk Funeral Home, Mifflinburg.
