John Wayne Loftis, Sr., 80, of Greensboro, died suddenly Tuesday, April 30, 2013. He is now resting in the arms of his Savior.

John was born August 30, 1932. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He attended Central Assembly of God Church for 45 years and later moved to Pleasant View Assembly of God in Reidsville. He was a retired paint contractor. John had made many lifelong friends during his career and he loved his church family. John served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lydia Ward Loftis; his parents, Lawrence Loftis and Beulah L. Smith; his brothers, Olyn Loftis (Irma) and Otis Loftis.

Mr. Loftis is survived by his loving wife, of 42 years, Corinne Kale Loftis; his son, John W. Loftis, Jr. (Lisa) of Brown Summit; step daughter, Mary C. Andrews (Roger) of Brown Summit; stepson, Eddie Breeden of Gibsonville; grandsons, Jonathan and Timothy Loftis of Greensboro; granddaughters, Cristie Porter (Dale) of Greensboro and Brandy Andrews of Gibsonville; three great grandchildren, Megan, Brandon and Triston all of Greensboro; sister, Doris L. Hall (Carl) of McLeansville; brother, Mike Loftis of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Ann Loftis of Burlington and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 2 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mary and Roger Andrews (7211 Turner North Drive, Brown Summit, NC).
