Robert Douglas Short, 58, of 1516 5th Ave. S., a retired welder, died after a brief illness Tuesday at a local hospital.
Cremation will take place under the direction of O'Connor Funeral Home. A reception for family and friends begins at 5 p.m. today at the Black Eagle Community Center.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Jarvey-Short of Great Falls; a daughter, Amber Leigh Short of Great Falls; a son, Robert Blackbird-Short of Lovelock, Nev.; sisters Carole Short of Billings, and Linda Zavala, Patsy Short and Pam Short, all of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Larry "Ahart" Short, and Donald "Dewey" Short of Havre; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Vince D. Short.
