John V. "Jack" Reid, 81, of Route 36 Sigel, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Golden Living Center, Clarion.
Mr. Reid was born in Brookville on August 11, 1931. He was the son of Albert C. Reid and Victoria V. (Klukan) Reid. Laura A. Lerch (died Oct. 14, 2003)
On February 12, 1955 in Harrisburg, he married the former Laura A. Lerch who preceded him in death on October 14, 2003.
He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
In his early life, Jack was in the outdoor amusement business from Florida to Massachusetts, and later Jack and his wife owned and operated Reid's Restaurant in Clarion. In 1968, he bought Cook Forest Trading Post and operated it with his family until his retirement in 1996.
Jack attended Brookville Schools and graduated from Rivera Beach High School in Florida.
Surviving is one son, Albert W. "Abbott" Reid (Donna M.) of Sigel and one granddaughter, Victoria M. Reid
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters, Anne Timmons and Victoria Lerch.
At Jack's request there will be no visitation, or services, (private services). Burial will be in the Cedarview Memorial Park, Clarion Township, Clarion County.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.
